Gene Baskin's Father-In-Law passes away
"My wife's dad, Clarence Larson,  passed away on July 11, 2010. We went to the funeral in Superior, Wisconsin (Click on Obituary page below). Darlene and her sister had been taking care of him for about 16 months.
Yes, Darlene and I did cross over the new bridge in Minneapolis that replaces the one that had collapsed. We had passed over that bridge just minutes before it collapsed on Aug 1, 2007."

Matt McCarty returns home from Iraq
"I wanted to let you  know that my son, Captain Matt McCarty, completed his second deployment in Iraq and was re-deployed to Ft. Riley, KS a couple of weeks back. He had deployed to Iraq in August 2009. We drove up to Kansas to be there for  the re-deployment and spent a few days with Matt and his girl friend. While in Iraq, Matt was the Commanding Officer of Bandit Troop in the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment(US Army). They were in the northwestern part of Iraq near the Syrian border and their primary mission was to intercept people and goods being smuggled into Iraq that would be used against the Iraqi security forces or US forces. They trained Iraqi armed forces and police and turned over many checkpoints and bases to the Iraqi forces over the past year. They also worked closely with local and provincial government leaders in implementing a number of projects to improve the infrastructure in Iraq. Thankfully, the 1-4 CAV
completed this mission without any fatalities.
After re-integration training and some time off, Matt will be relocating to Ft. Benning, GA where he will be an instructor for new Captains in the Infantry and Armor branches."

This was an idea sent in by Terry Watson back in January of 2007. It became real popular as many of our classmates have sent in stories
of all kinds from their past. If you have a recurring article that recounts stories from the
old days in and around TJ and PA send it in for publication. As Terry said, "Some of
these stories might be true."
Here's an opportunity that allows you the classmate and others to enter information such as name, address, and email address along with a
public comment field. As you enter the site, always check the Guest Book, you might
find that a classmate has just left a note.
